Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran left the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran was one of ABC's original Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts in February, 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to the next throughout Corcoran's early years. The family relied on the food provided by the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran claims that her father was drunk who treated her mother with disrespectful and condescension. Corcoran struggled in school, and she later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in several courses during her first year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
